An Afternoon in London

Hi All,

After arriving at London St. Pancreas Railway Station, I decided to walk across the street to Kings Cross Station so I could see Platform 9 3/4 (from Harry Potter).

After taking the cheesy photo above, I walked around 3/4 of a mile to my hotel. It was too early to check in, so I went down to Contiki’s London headquarters, the Contiki Basement to drop my bag off and to go buy a SIM Card for my phone. I bought a 12 GB & 300 minute pre-pay card for £30 at a company named “3”. I also got a SIM card for my iPad for £16, so I can watch Game of Thrones on the bus!

Afterwards, I headed back to the hotel where I checked in, met my roommate for the night (he is doing a different tour than me, so I’ll find out who my roommate is tomorrow), and walked to 221B Baker Street (Sherlock Holmes’ house) just under a mile away.

On my way, I passed through Regent’s Park and was able to take a few great photos.

221B Baker Street was packed with over 100 French school children, but I was still able to enjoy myself. It was pretty cool to have the various books and TV shows come even more to life!

After the tour, I grabbed a taxi back to my hotel because we had a kick start meeting with the tour group. After finalizing our documentation, a few of us headed to dinner before meeting up with more people from our group at the hotel bar.

As we have to start tomorrow morning at 6:45 AM, we decided to call it an early night and head back to our rooms around 10:30 PM.
