About
Mike McHugh, otherwise known as Gimpy Globetrotter, was diagnosed with arthrogryposis when he was born. He now travels the world with two crutches & a backpack. Recently, he crossed his seventh continent off his list when he traveled to Antarctica in February 2023. McHugh's philosophy is "don't let anyone tell you what you can or can't do. The only person that can tell you is yourself".
McHugh currently resides in New York City and is a proud alumni of Penn State University.
A fun fact about McHugh is that he travels to all the home & away games with his Dad - he has not missed a home game since 2008!

One Final Stop in India: Kerala
After landing in Kochi, I stored my luggage and stayed at Port Muziris before heading to Alleppey for a houseboat trip, complete with a captain and cook. I spent the journey relaxing on the observation deck, enjoying massive local meals, and taking in the serene backwater views.

Contiki Eternal India: Goa
Following a bittersweet farewell to their Contiki group in North Goa, I transitioned to a luxurious solo retreat at the St. Regis in South Goa. The stay was defined by high-end perks: a suite upgrade, welcome coconuts, and a $100 spa credit used for a Swedish massage. Days were spent sampling diverse on-site dining—from riverside beef to Italian gnocchi—and enjoying signature rituals like the Champagne Sabering.

Contiki Eternal India: Mumbai
Mumbai is a sensory overload in the best way. Our street food tour was the ultimate highlight, from the "elite" Bombay Sandwich to pani puri and sweet kaju katli. I even attempted a Bollywood dance class—far from a pro, but it was pure fun! The energy peaked as we watched India clinch the Cricket World Cup alongside locals; the city erupted in a way I’ll never forget. Mumbai was a 24-hour adrenaline rush.
